J. Douglas Sparkman

Mr. Sparkman is senior vice president of Transportation & Logistics for Marathon Petroleum Company LLC. He joined the company in 1979 and was appointed to his current position in February 2007.

Mr. Sparkman oversees the Terminal, Transport & Marine organization, Marathon Pipe Line LLC operations, marketing and transportation engineering, and the product quality organization.

Throughout his career, Mr. Sparkman has held positions of increasing responsibility at the Company's Garyville, Louisiana; Detroit, Michigan; and Texas City, Texas, refineries. He also served as manager of Refining Operations in Findlay, Ohio, and manager of the Detroit and Catlettsburg, Kentucky, refineries.

Mr. Sparkman graduated from Louisiana State University, Louisiana, in 1979 with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. In 2005, he attended the Wharton advanced management program at the University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Sparkman serves as chairman of the Owner Representatives Board of the Louisiana Offshore Oil Port (LOOP LLC). He also serves on the board of managers of Centennial Pipeline LLC.
