Philip G. Behrman

Philip G. Behrman is senior vice president of Worldwide Exploration for Marathon Oil Corporation and serves as a member of Marathon's Executive Committee. He joined Marathon in 2000.

Prior to joining Marathon, Mr. Behrman had served since 1996 as exploration manager for Vastar Resources Inc.’s Gulf of Mexico deepwater division. While with Vastar, he assumed the additional responsibilities of acting-vice president of Exploration and Land in 2000.

Mr. Behrman began his career in 1978 in Unocal’s geothermal division and subsequently gained more than 15 years of experience with BP in a range of exploration and production assignments throughout the United States.

Mr. Behrman holds a bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of California at Los Angeles and a doctorate in geology from the University of California, Berkeley.
