Diversity Education
Training Programs
Required training programs are provided to employees to increase their level of diversity awareness and build teamwork skills. Management is also required to complete diversity skills training which provides tools to help foster inclusion within their departments. Diversity trainers present workshops covering the various dimensions of diversity such as race, gender, generational differences or sexual orientation. The Company has also integrated diversity training into certain leadership development training programs. Cultural Awareness training is being conducted in domestic and international locations to foster an understanding of cultures and business practices in countries where Marathon operates.
Cultural Heritage ProgramsCultural heritage recognition programs provide another avenue to increase diversity awareness. Marathon recognizes five designated months in observance of Black history, Women's history, Asian/Pacific Islander Heritage, Hispanic Heritage, Native American Indian Heritage and National Diversity Week. Programs at office locations and electronic resources are utilized to provide educational opportunities to Marathon employees worldwide.
