Marathon's Refining, Marketing and Transportation headquarters is located in Findlay.

In his book, "The Rating Guide to America's Small Cities," author G. Scott Thomas rated Findlay as the best overall micropolitan area in Ohio. Findlay is the quintessential Midwestern community with a population of 38,967 within the corporate limits and a county population of 71,295.

Findlay is located in Northwest Ohio along I-75, approximately 45 miles south of Toledo and within two hours of Columbus, Ohio, and Detroit, Michigan.

Findlay enjoys the designation of "Flag City USA" by proclamation of Congress. Findlay offers two theaters, the University of Findlay and Fort Findlay Playhouse, two above ground reservoirs, several golf courses and parks, and numerous shopping and dining opportunities. Marathon employees live both in Findlay and neighboring towns.
