Port Gentil, GabonMarathon holds a majority interest in three oil fields in offshore Gabon. Port Gentil is located in western Gabon, on an island in the Ogooué River estuary east of Cape Lopez. The city is an important center of the Gabon petroleum industry as well as a sport and commercial fishing center. Exports include timber, petroleum, fish, cacao and forest products. Port Gentil's population is approximately 125,000, and French is the official language. Recreational opportunities include pristine, white sand beaches. |
