Operations Center Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES

Marathon Pipe Line, LLC (MPL) a wholly owned subsidiary of Marathon Petroleum Company (MPC) operates pipeline systems that move crude oil from production fields, other pipeline companies, offshore platforms and river barges to Marathon Petroleum Company LLC refineries, other refineries and other pipeline systems.

MPL also operates pipeline systems that move refined products from refineries to product terminals.

MPL’s network includes 54 pipeline systems covering 5,000 miles in 13 U.S. states that controls the movement and delivery of 135 million gallons of petroleum products daily.

OPERATIONS CENTER ANALYST

  • After six months of training that includes individual comprehensive study, field and console training, the OC Analyst will be part of a team that will utilize real-time information and a sophisticated computer system to control and monitor MPL’s pipelines.
  • The Operations Center Analysts will be responsible for executing daily operations and performing system analysis. The OC Analyst will use interactive computer controls to operate thousands of valves, meters and pumping units located along the system. They will also be responsible for monitoring fluid levels in storage tanks, obtaining meter readings, obtaining gravitometer readings and monitoring pipeline pressure and flow rates.
  • Work Schedule:  Individuals work 12-hour monthly rotating shifts.  Seven days are worked in a fourteen-day time period on a 2/2/3 rotation, with a three-day weekend (off) every other week.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Desired majors: Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Environmental & Occupational Safety, Marketing, Operations Management, Transportation and Logistics.
  • Attention to detail, communication, decision making, multi-tasking, problem solving and teamwork skills are also necessary.
  • We hire for the following location: Findlay, Ohio.
  • Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
