Gas-to-Fuels

Marathon is developing a proprietary gas-conversion process that is more carbon-efficient than conventional gas-conversion processes. This technology bypasses conventional intermediate syngas technology, which is relatively expensive and inefficient, to produce high-quality premium fuels.

One such process, gas-to-fuels (GTF), converts natural gas into high-octane gasolines through direct catalytic conversion. Although not yet mature, this technology could generate a wider range of finished products at lower costs, making them attractive for application in smaller, but more numerous, gas accumulations around the world.
